Why Podcasts Matter for Musicians
Podcasts have become a powerful medium for storytelling, marketing and connection. While traditionally unrelated to the music industry, podcasts offer musicians a unique way to reach global audiences, collaborate with influencers and even explore advertising opportunities.
This post delves into how a leading podcast, The Jordan Harbinger Show, inspired a fresh perspective on music marketing.
Do You Like Listening to Podcasts?
Yesterday, as I was reading a book titled Traffic Secrets by Russell Brunson, I came across a section on Jordan Harbinger, who's an American podcaster. And so I did a google search on him and found out that his podcast, The Jordan Harbinger Show has millions of downloads!
What Has Podcast Got to Do with Music?
Are you wondering why I write about Jordan when my blog is a music blog and not a podcast blog? Well, I was thinking that I might want to buy ads on his show (not now but eventually) since it's so popular.
On Google Trends, it seems that he's not well-known in Asia. So why do I even bother to know about him and his show? Well, at least he seems to be well-known and popular in the western world, in particular, in the United States. And since I'm not focusing on the Asian market alone, so it's good to know who I could approach (in future) to promote my music.
The Future of Music and Podcasting
As podcasts grow in influence, they present untapped potential for musicians. From strategic advertising to starting your own music-themed podcast, the opportunities are endless.
