Soundproof Panels vs Switch Work Booth
The Quest for Crystal-Clear Sound
Creating high-quality music or podcasts comes with its challenges, and background noise is often the most frustrating hurdle. From traffic disturbances to internal echoes, these sounds can ruin an otherwise perfect recording.
In this post, I'll explore my attempts to tackle these issues with solutions like soundproof panels, window seals and work booths. Let’s dive into my journey towards achieving noise-free recordings!
Removing Background Noise
Two days ago, I wrote about the annoying background noise when recording my music.
At about 1.30am this morning, I tried recording my music (that I'd already recorded on my digital piano) using my phone. And during the recording, there was noise coming from the traffic! Though it wasn't as bad (as compared to noise coming from the traffic during the day), the noise was still obvious when I played back.
Soundproof Panels? Or Switch Work Booth?
So this morning, I did a search for soundproof panels on Carousell and came across door seals, which might be able to block out noise coming from anywhere within the house.
But they won't be able to block out noise coming from outside, and so I was thinking if I should get the panels/door seals or I should try to use a Switch work booth to do my recording.
However, the work booths at the shopping mall near where I stay aren't big enough for me to put my piano on the table. Of course, according to the Switch website, it has bigger work booths, but there's none at the aforesaid shopping mall.
Window Seal?
While searching for information on soundproof panels on the internet, I came across information on window seals. If they're effective in blocking out noise coming from outside, it'd be great!
Decision?
I'm likely to get the door and window seals from sellers on Carousell. Hopefully, the seals would solve the problem of background noise for me, so that I could produce better-quality music and podcast episodes.
Finding Harmony in Soundproofing
Achieving flawless recordings is a journey of trial and error, but each step brings valuable lessons. While I am optimistic about the effectiveness of door and window seals, I remain open to exploring additional noise-blocking solutions.
For anyone navigating similar challenges, don’t give up—experiment and find what works best for you.
We can turn every recording into a masterpiece!
