In a Contemplative Mood
Introduction
Contemplation is a powerful state that invites deep reflection and personal insight. In this blog post, we'll explore what it means to be in a contemplative mood, discover personal practices to embrace this mindset and learn how music can enhance your moments of deep thought.
In a Contemplative Mood
My latest music video titled "In a Contemplative Mood" is out! I've been thinking a lot lately about life, about what I want and about all the injustices in this world. And so this piece of impromptu music is reflective of my current mood.
What Do You Do When You're in a Contemplative Mood?
For me, I like to take long bus rides alone when I'm in such a mood. Or I might just stare into space. Or I might listen to my own instrumental music. Or I might just close my eyes and play the piano. But whatever it is, I prefer to be alone when I'm in a contemplative mood because that's when I'm able to think deeply about issues that I feel troubled about.
I think that taking long walks in nature could help when you're doing serious contemplation. For me, I'd love to but living where I am now doesn't offer me the luxury of being in nature, let alone doing serious contemplation while in nature.
And I think that taking walks in nature could somehow calm your spirit as you take in the sights, and this could really aid in your contemplation (in my view). Moreover, according to a few websites, taking a walk in nature offers some benefits, such as reducing stress. Useful Songs for Contemplation?
As I was thinking of songs that might be helpful for contemplation, I decided to do a search on Google. And there I found this website, theodysseyonline.com that lists ten songs that might be helpful when you're in a contemplative mood. But I think instrumental music works better if you're in a contemplative mood. And in my view, this is especially true when you're doing some serious thinking.
Instrumental Music for Contemplation
For me, I'd prefer to listen to my own instrumental music when I'm in a contemplative mood. So, if you're like me, you might want to check out my YouTube channel at Annie's Music Everywhere. (Not all my instrumental pieces are suitable, though.)
I did searches for contemplative music on a few search engines and it seems that the few pieces of contemplative music that I listened to aren't exactly suitable for contemplation.
To me, what qualifies as contemplative music has to have a soothing quality to it. And soft music with slow tempo certainly qualifies as contemplative music. Because such music is better suited to calm your spirit and/or keep your spirit in a state of calm when you're in a contemplative mood. Do you agree?
Conclusion
Contemplative moments offer us a unique space for personal growth and understanding. By integrating peaceful practices and music into your life, you can nurture these moments to bring clarity and calm to your thoughts. Embrace your reflective times and let them guide you to deeper self-awareness.
Cheers,
Annie Chan
