Smile

Image
Why Smile? No matter what you're currently facing, just smile.:) Why? Because smiling, according to an article on verywellmind.com , elevates your mood. And if you're facing something that affects your mood, all the more you should try smiling. I'd tried to force a smile on my face when I was feeling really down on more than one occasion and it worked for me.:)  If you're feeling blue right now, and if you can't force yourself to smile, maybe you could think back to those times in the past when something or someone made you smile. Benefits of Smiling? Smiling is a stress reliever . We're living in a fast-paced world where stress is inevitable, and so it's good to smile more. Smiling also makes you happier . Smiling could give you a youthful appearance too and ...it's free, as Tom Wilson has aptly put it: " A smile is a facelift that's in everyone's price range." So for all the ladies out there, you might want to smile more (that is, i

Waiting

Image
Waiting is something that no one enjoys. Waiting for something or someone that has been on your heart for a long time can be especially tough. It calls for faith. And when your faith is being stretched, it can really feel unbearable.  Waiting could build your faith muscles, but waiting could also destroy your faith. Have you ever been there? Are you able to relate?  What Should You Do While You Wait? You could complain or you could maintain a posture of gratitude while you're waiting for some things to manifest in your life. I was guilty of complaining in the past but now I make a conscious effort to be thankful for every little thing. What about you? While waiting, you should prepare or get ready to receive . Because if you've not prepared yourself to receive, you might not be able to handle that which you've been wanting. For instance, if you've been wanting to be in a (healthy) relationship but there's a part of you that's still not healed, you'd probabl

Life Is...?

Life is Good? Oftentimes,  the way you view life is shaped by  your experiences.  When you've a smooth- sailing life where life is great,  it's very easy for you  to say that life is good.  But what if  you've a life of constant struggles? Will you still be able to say that life is good? I think it'd likely be very hard. But then again, it's a matter of perspective. It's a matter of changing your mindset.  You're in Control of Your Thoughts So,  if you're currently facing any struggles,  you can  at least  take comfort  in the knowledge that you can  take  control of  how you  see your struggles.   By changing  the way you see  these struggles (for instance, by seeing  them as valuable lessons  instead of struggles),  it'll position you to overcome and emerge as  a winner. If you want to know  how you could take control of  your thoughts,  and therefore take control of your mind, you can check out an article on lifehack.org . Life Is...? Life is how

Out of Desert

Image
In the Desert The desert is a place of deep sorrows. It's a place where your cries go unheard. It's a place where darkness reigns. It's a place where you can't seem to find a way of escape. If you've ever been in a desert (figuratively speaking), you'll be able to relate. Are You in a Desert Season in Your Life? Sometimes the best way forward when you're in a desert is to follow the path of least resistance. According to Carl Jung, a well-known psychiatrist, what you resist persists . In my opinion, however, this is only true in certain contexts. I believe that there are times when you've to push through or put up a fight so that that which you're resisting will stop. (When you're pushing through or putting up a fight, you're basically resisting that which is opposing you.) Whatever path you choose to take, whether it's the path of least resistance or the path of pushing through, you'll eventually be out of the desert as long as you s
