Healing at the Speed of Sound

Music Could Heal

After reading a book titled "The Mozart Effect", I've always believed that music has the power to heal. However, I believe that only certain types of music could heal, for example, healing music that could bring out deeply-buried emotions, because such music (to me) could provide a cathartic outlet.

And Music Could Also Oppress

On the other hand, from my perspective, heavy metal music sounds oppressive and therefore, isn't suitable for people who are dealing with addictions. And by extension, it isn't suitable (in my opinion) for those who are in any kind of bondage as well.

Healing at the Speed of Sound

I'm currently this book, Healing at the Speed of Sound by Don Campbell and Alex Doman. Don shares about the effects of sound (including music) on our lives and our overall wellbeing (that is, according to my understanding of the book.)

Music for Business?

Don was saying something to the effect that music could influence businesses as well. For example, the type of music that is being piped in or played at the background could determine if customers will buy more or less.

So What's My Takeaway?

My takeaway from reading the book, Healing at the Speed of Sound, is that I should be very mindful of the type of music or sound that I allow in my life, as it could have a huge impact on my overall wellbeing.
