Happy 2021

Introduction 

As the clock strikes midnight, ushering in a brand new year, the world is filled with promise, possibility and a fresh chance to start anew. Start 2021 with renewed purpose and positivity. Discover uplifting music and powerful reflections on embracing new beginnings for a brighter future. It's a brand new year and a brand new day!

It's a Brand New Year and a Brand New Day!

"Happy 2021" was created on 31 December 2020 because I wanted to welcome the brand new year with a piece of happy music. And since Chinese New Year is coming, I decided to use a Chinese tune. Incidentally, I chanced upon this song, Brand New Day while searching the web and trying to create some kind of value for this post. It's a song by Sting, an English musician.  

A New Beginning

2021 marks the beginning of a new decade, and it also marks a new beginning for me. A brand new me. A different me. A motivated me. A new me that's fired up to pursue my dreams. 

I've allowed too many people and too much negativity to hold me back for too long. And I've finally woken up to the reality that I'm the one who should take the wheels of my own life and that I should take back the power that I'd unwittingly given to other people. 

As we embark on this fresh start, it's the perfect opportunity to reflect on our goals, aspirations and values. What are the things that hold you back, and what are the dreams you're eager to pursue? 

It's a New Day

This is a new day for me, literally. And so I'm not going to focus on people and things that don't matter to me anymore. Instead, I'm going to focus on what I want this year and the years beyond. I should and I will start to put myself first and not anyone else. 

As someone has said so well, we'll be able to take care of other people only when we've taken care of ourselves. We couldn't help someone put on his oxygen mask without putting on our own oxygen masks first. Right?

Incidentally, I came across this website, genius.com while searching the web. It has the lyrics of It's A New Day by Hillsong. I also came across a secular piece with the same title, sung by will.i.am. One of the verses caught my attention, because it resonated with me. And the verse is:

"It's been a long time waitin'

Waiting for this moment

It's been a long time praying

Praying for this moment."

Just know that whatever you might be waiting for will eventually come knocking as long as you persevere and not give up. 

Conclusion

Remember, every day is an opportunity for a new beginning. Embrace the year with hope, determination and self-care. What you’re waiting for is on its way—keep believing!

Introduction I've been a victim of bullying since young. And I think I've acquired what's known as 'learned helplessness' from many years of being bullied, which was probably why I used to think that I was powerless to change anything in my life no matter how much I hated what was happening!
