What is a Dream?

According to John C. Maxwell, a dream is "an inspiring picture of the future that energizes your mind, will and emotions, empowering you to do everything you can to achieve it." According to an article on success.com, he quoted his friend, Sharon Hull's definition of a dream, which is "the seed of possibility planted in the soul of a human being..."

Do You Have a Dream?

If you have a dream, are you already pursuing it? If not, why not? Is it because you're allowing the busyness and demands of life to put your dream on hold? Or is it because you're afraid? Afraid of failure? Afraid of losing friends? Or afraid of being judged? Being afraid makes you feel more alive, so go ahead and pursue your dream.:)

Why Should You Pursue Your Dream?

When you pursue your dream, you'll add meaning to your life. When you go all out to pursue your dream, it makes you feel fulfilled. When you actively pursue your dream, you'll not feel like you've lived your life in vain. And when you pursue your dream with all your heart, it gives you a huge sense of satisfaction.

Why You Shouldn't Share Your Dreams with Just Anyone

Don't share your dreams with just anyone, because not everyone in your life wants you to live your dreams. Why? Because not everyone "believes in their dreams...so when they come to hear about your great vision they will immediately shoot it down and sometimes even make fun of you." And they might crush your dream or even your spirit, and thereby doing extraordinary damage. 



A Word of Caution

Remember that people closest to you may do the most damage to your dreams. So be wise in who you share your dreams with. To conclude, I just want to use the heading of an article I just read, which is "follow your dreams & aspirations, not someone else's." Why? Because it's your life.

Do You Eat Dog Meat?

  Around early 2022, I watched a video of a big dog being forced by a man to go up to a truck. The man was apparently a dog meat trader in a certain part of China. He was using a sharp tool to grip the dog’s neck, which obviously caused it pain and made it fearful as could be seen from its expression. There were other dogs on the truck. It was a sad sight to behold. There were quite a lot of onlookers around. I was shocked that none of them intervened. I knew it could get them into trouble with the dog meat trader if they were to intervene. But if some of them had stepped forward to help the poor dog, it was very likely to be saved. Surely they could buy it or at least call an animal shelter? How could they be so indifferent to the way the dog meat trader handle it? Dogs aren’t poultry.
