Resting in Your Presence

Image
Introduction I'm thrilled to share my latest music video, Resting in Your Presence . This piece is close to my heart as it was created spontaneously, capturing a serene moment of reflection. I hope it resonates with you as much as it did with me.  Whether you're seeking a musical escape or just a moment of calm, take a few minutes to unwind with the music in this video. When Life Overwhelms Sometimes when life gets too overwhelming for us to handle, it's good to have someone in our lives in whose presence we could really rest. In whose presence we know that we're safe. In whose presence we know that we won't be judged. Without having to say a word. Without any pretense. To have such a person in one's life is a true blessing.  For me, when life feels overwhelming, I prefer to be alone instead. Because to me, it's during such times that I really need to think and gain clarity.  What about you? Do you feel overwhelmed with life?  Do you feel overwhelmed without...

Life is Beautiful

Image
Introduction Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, and our thoughts often shape how we experience it.  Recently, I released a music video titled  " Life is Beautiful " , a reflection of newfound perspectives on life.  Inspired by lessons from Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi , I want to share how changing your mindset can lead to profound realisations and a better life. Remember that no matter how ingrained our thought patterns have been, we could still change them if they do not serve us or are destructive in any way. And all it takes is to decide to change and then stay the course. Mastering Our Minds I'm now more and more convinced about the importance of mastering my mind (or my thought life) in order to achieve or get whatever I want in life. As a well-known French philosopher, Rene Descartes had said, "I think, therefore I am" and so it's of crucial importance that we zealously guard our minds.   In the past, I ...

Local Music

Image
Introduction Over the past decade, the local music scene has transformed, showcasing a growing diversity and depth.  In this post, I want to shine the spotlight on three talented local female singer-songwriters: Jasmine Sokko, Annette Lee and Inch Chua. Each of these artists brings a unique sound and perspective, contributing to the richness and vibrancy of our music landscape. Local Music The local music scene has changed drastically over the years (in my opinion) and it seems to be a lot more vibrant now.  In this post, I'll be sharing about local music, specifically the music of three local female singers who are all singers-songwriters. Personally, I think they're all very talented. Song for the Underdog If you've been an underdog,  you might be able to relate to  this song  titled " Song for the Underdog " by Annette Lee . By the way, I like the lively music of this song.:) I first got to know about Annette through  her Facebook   (FB)  ...

In a Contemplative Mood

Image
Introduction Contemplation is a powerful state that invites deep reflection and personal insight. In this blog post, we'll explore what it means to be in a contemplative mood, discover personal practices to embrace this mindset and learn how music can enhance your moments of deep thought. In a Contemplative Mood My latest music video titled " In a Contemplative Mood " is out! I've been thinking a lot lately about life, about what I want and about all the injustices in this world. And so this piece of impromptu music is reflective of my current mood.  What Do You Do When You're in a Contemplative Mood? For me, I like to take long bus rides alone when I'm in such a mood. Or I might just stare into space. Or I might listen to my own instrumental music. Or I might just close my eyes and play the piano. But whatever it is, I prefer to be alone when I'm in a contemplative mood because that's when I'm able to think deeply about issues that I feel troubled...
