Moving On

Introduction

Moving on from deep traumas can feel like an insurmountable challenge. As Joel Osteen wisely states, the first step is making a conscious decision to move forward. (quotefancy.com)

This blog post explores practical strategies for letting go of past pain, setting boundaries and prioritising your emotional and physical wellbeing.

How to Move On?

How do you move on after having experienced deep traumas? Maybe like what Joel Osteen has said, you have to make a decision that you're going to move on. That could be a good starting point.

Going over in your mind, again and again, whatever people have done that has caused the deep traumas won't help you to move on.

On the contrary, it might keep you stuck in your past. Moreover, the people who've done you wrong might not even be sorry.

So why torment yourself by holding on? Let go and move on instead for the sake of your own emotional and mental wellbeing. And let go for the sake of your physical health too as  there's a correlation between trauma and physical illness, according to tandfonline.com.

If the deep traumas are a result of betrayals, then I think it's important to maintain boundaries with those who have betrayed you. But of course, if you could cut all ties with these people, you might want to consider this option. Because once trust is betrayed, it's hard to trust again, especially if it's betrayed time and again.

More importantly, when trust is (deeply) betrayed, it could have ripple effects on your other relationships, possibly over many years. So, why allow these people to stay in your life if you could cut all ties with them? And cutting ties with them might actually help you to move on more quickly.

Seek help for trauma if you're not able to let go and move on. It's perfectly fine to seek help - whether you're seeking help from a therapist or from God.

Conclusion

Letting go of past traumas is essential for healing and personal growth. By making the decision to move on, setting healthy boundaries and seeking support when needed, you can reclaim your life and emotional wellbeing.

Remember that the journey of healing is not linear. But with the right mindset and uplifting music, like Damita Haddon’s "No Looking Back", you can find the strength to leave the past behind and embrace a brighter future.
